ATCAA FOOD BANK NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!

We would like to encourage of you to start collecting canned foods from now until October 27th. Please bring items to reception area of Gold Rush. Thanks!!!

 

Journalism Class is actively working on this year's yearbook. SENIOR baby pictures are being collected. Cute captions to go along with the pictures would be appreciated. Please give the pictures to senior Jacinda Ferguson or drop them in the box outside Mr. Blake's office. The pictures will be returned.

Ads are being sold as well. They are only $10 for a business card size ad. See Mr. Blake, Sam Pearce, or the front desk to buy an ad.

Yearbooks are currently only $20 if you buy NOW. For further information, see Mr. Blake.

Smencils for Sale!!!!!

Gold Rush Fund Raiser is now in full swing. We are selling pencils for $1.00 per pencil. The pencils are made from 100% recycled newspaper and they are scented Smencils are available at the reception area or ask your teacher.

Movie Ticket Prize Drawing

Congrats to Laura Allen and Sam Pearce who won the movie tickets! You can pick them up at the front!

"Are You Ready"? worksheets need to be turned in if you wanted to be entered in the drawing on October 28. If you didn't turn your form in, make sure to get the following tasks completed:

Take Student ID photo

Talk to/sign up with vendors

Fill out two student schedules

Purchase required supplies

Sign Master Agreement

Student ID cards are ready!  Please pick ID up in lobby.

ROP CLASSES

For many of the ROP classes offered at Sonora High, it is too late to sign up .... however, there are TWO classes that will take students, Juniors or 16 years of age and over into their classes.

The AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES TECHNICIAN I AND II  will take in a few students if they sign up right now. This class meets for two periods on M, T, TH, F from 8:05 - 10:09 and W from 9:35 - 11:09. This class offers job training in auto maintenance and repair in the following areas:

      Engine Tune-up      Carbureting      Wheel Alignment     Wheel Balancing

      Emission Control    Brake Service    Lubrication and Maintenance

      Tire Repair and Renewal    Shock Absorber Renewal

                Common Part Replacement

The CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 1 - 2  will also take in a few students if they sign up right now. This class meets for two periods on M, T, TH, F from 8:05 - 10:09 and W from 9:35 - 11:09. This class will prepare students for entry level jobs in the building industry. Instructional writing will be offered in:

     Plans and Blue-prints     Materials and Labor Costs    Ordering Materials   

     Work Layout                Use of Hand Tools                  Project Construction   

  Legal Code Requirements      Building Permits      Related Occupational Information
