About Me

When I began teaching for Gold Rush two years ago, I was embarking on a new adventure piloting the program at the Country School site. Kathleen Hansen had a vision for children learning through farming and outdoor experiences engaging in hands-on activities in gardening, animal care, and exploration. This was an exciting shift for me coming from traditional schooling. As a teacher I truly enjoy offering individualized instruction and learning experiences for children to meet their diverse needs in academics and fun!

My teaching experience prior to Gold Rush includes Mother Lode Christian, Curtis Creek, and Jamestown Elementary. While these were wonderful experiences for me that reaffirmed my love for teaching, Gold Rush provided the opportunity to reach children in a meaningful and personalized way that is relevant for them.

Before I pursued my teaching credential, I was an art major in college. Because of my love for art, I also hold a supplementary art credential and incorporate that in my students' learning experience. Teaching came along quite naturally in my life as I started my own young family and desired to be involved in their education. Giving children a great head start in life and instilling a love of learning has been one of the driving forces behind what I do in the classroom. I look forward to collaborating with Natalee Ribble and Cheryl Divine-Jonas in making this school year exceptional.
